I found this on a list of “102 Spectacular Nonfiction Stories from 2012,” and it really is one of the best articles I have read in a while. I have nothing to critique and only one thing to add: I would hope that even the most capitalistic heart out there, they would recognize that the idea of for profit prisons is absolutely abhorrent and against everything we want our country to stand for.
